We are tucked away on Habibullah Road in T Nagar, at what used to be number 133 but is now number 84. Being near the old Subhiksha landmark helps people find us, as T Nagar can get pretty confusing with all the little streets and the constant crowds. At Classic Leather Products, we don’t really go for anything flashy. Our space is filled with rolls of material and tools we’ve used for a long time. It gets a bit cramped sometimes, especially when a new shipment arrives, but we find a way to move things around. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or a team of people in suits. It’s mostly just us in our work clothes getting things done. The humidity in Chennai can be tough on the work, so we have to be careful with how we store things so they don't get ruined. We’ve lived and worked in this area for a long time, so we know the local rhythm well. Most of our neighbors are doing the same thing, just running their shops and hoping for a good day. We don’t spend money on big ads because we think the work should just speak for itself. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-task. We might have a bit of a mess on the table, but that’s just how it looks when you’re actually working. It’s a practical, local operation through and through.
