Sree Lakshmi Leather

We are located at Plot No.3, Door No.2/6 on Gopalan Street in Ganapathy Puram, Chromepet. Sree Lakshmi Leather has been here for a good bit now. If you know this part of Chromepet, you know it can get busy, but our street is usually okay. We deal with leather every day, so there is always that specific smell in the air around the shop. It’s a small space, really. We have some shelves and a couple of workbenches where we handle everything. It’s not like those big factories you see in industrial zones. It’s just a local spot. People often ask for directions because the door numbering can be a little confusing if you aren't from around here. We just tell them to look for Plot 3. We spend the mornings checking the stock and the afternoons working through the pile of things to be finished. The light in the shop isn't the brightest, so we do a lot of the detailed work near the front door. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. Most people find us by word of mouth or because they live nearby. It’s a practical way to run things. We close up when the sun goes down and start again the next day. It’s quiet work, but it keeps us busy enough throughout the week without making a big fuss about it.
