You can find Mari Leather over at No. 2b Kothandam Street in Chromepet. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main roads nearby. We’ve been working with leather here for quite a while. The smell of tanned hides is something you just get used to when you step inside. We aren't a big factory; we are more of a local workshop and office. We spend our days looking at skins, checking for marks, and making sure the leather is good enough for what our customers want. There is a lot of hands-on work involved in what we do. We don't use a lot of fancy technology. It’s mostly shears, measuring tapes, and a few sewing machines. The team here is small, just a handful of us who know the trade. Chromepet is a good place to be, and our neighbors are mostly other small businesses or families. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Usually, people hear about us from someone else who was happy with what we did. We keep things pretty basic. If you walk into our place, you’ll see scraps of leather on the floor and tools on the benches. It’s a bit messy, but that’s how we work. We don't have a corporate office feel. It’s just a place where leather gets turned into products. We take our time with the work and don't rush things just to be fast.
