Our office is at 106 3rd Street in Gilnagar, Choolaimedu. It’s a residential-looking street but we have our leather business set up here. Dimo Leather Apparel Pvt. Ltd. is where we deal with jackets and other leather items. The smell of tanned hides is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We have racks of samples lined up against the walls. Some of them have been there for ages. The floor is concrete and there are scraps of leather everywhere. Choolaimedu is a crowded area, so parking is always a headache for us. We spend our mornings replying to messages and checking the quality of the latest batch. It’s mostly just a few of us working at desks or checking the stock. The windows are small, so we keep the tube lights on all day. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s more of a workspace where we get things organized. Sometimes the neighbors complain if we make too much noise moving crates, so we try to be quiet in the mornings. We have a small kettle for making coffee when the weather gets a bit rainy. It’s a straightforward operation. We just focus on the leather goods and getting them packed correctly. Nothing more to it than that. Just a small team on 3rd Street doing our daily tasks. It’s quiet work but we enjoy being part of the Gilnagar neighborhood.
