You can find us at No. 5/512 Kannadasan Street in V. M Nagar, which is over in Thiruvallur. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but it’s where we’ve set up our export business. The area is quite local and has a different feel than the busy streets of Chennai. We have a simple setup here. Most of our day revolves around checking the goods and getting them ready for transport. Kannadasan Street is a regular residential-cum-commercial road. We know our neighbors and often see the same faces every morning. The building we are in is practical and doesn't have any of those modern glass fronts you see in the city. We have some storage space and a small area where we handle the paperwork. It’s often hot, so we keep the fans running at full speed all day. We’ve been doing this for several years now and have a system that works for us. We don't really have a sales pitch; we just focus on the items we export and make sure they reach where they need to go. Sometimes the logistics can be a headache, especially with the local traffic, but we’ve learned to plan around it. It’s a quiet, steady life here in Thiruvallur. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep our customers satisfied.
