Chennai Mushrooms & Biotech Llp

Out here on 7th Street in Muthapudupet, things move at their own pace. We are located at Door No. 48 in Periar Nagar, which is a part of Chennai that feels a bit more like a community. Chennai Mushrooms & Biotech Llp is what we call our small operation. As the name suggests, we spend our days dealing with mushrooms and some of the science that goes into growing them properly. It’s not exactly a clean, white-lab kind of place. It’s more of a working space where things can get a bit humid because that’s how the mushrooms like it. We started this because we were curious about how to make the biotech side of things work in a local setting. The office is small and tucked away, so you might miss it if you aren't looking closely. Most of us here have lived in Chennai for years, so we’re used to the humidity and the way the 600055 area feels during the monsoon. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just focus on our cultures and making sure the mushrooms are growing like they should. It’s a lot of waiting and watching, really. People stop by sometimes to ask what we’re doing, and we just tell them we’re growing things. It’s a quiet life, mostly, and we prefer it that way. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
