Chaitanya Engg. Works

Down on Rakiappan Street in Mylapore, you’ll find us at 4A. Chaitanya Engg. Works has been part of this neighborhood for a good while now. Mylapore is a busy area with a lot of history, and we fit right in with the other small shops and workshops around here. Our place is usually filled with the sound of machines and tools. We do engineering work, which basically means we fix things and make parts when people need them. It’s a hands-on job. You won’t find us wearing suits or sitting in fancy meeting rooms. Most of the time we’re in our work clothes, covered in a bit of oil or dust. People from around the area know where we are. They drop by with a broken part or a sketch of something they need made. We take a look and see what we can do. It’s a practical business. We don’t have a website with lots of photos. We just have our shop on Rakiappan Street. It’s a bit cramped sometimes because of all the equipment, but we manage. We like being in Mylapore. It’s got a good feel to it. We just keep our heads down and get the work done, making sure whatever leaves our shop is up to the task it’s meant for. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get things exactly right, but we don't like to rush if it means making a mistake. It’s just how we operate.
