Century Leather

Century Leather is tucked away at No. 11 Laala Kutti Street. If you know the area, you know it is a narrow street, but we have made it our home for a long time. Working with leather is tough on the hands and the smell is quite strong. We are used to it by now, though visitors often notice it right away. We have various hides coming in and going out all through the week. It is a small shop, really. We do the cutting and the finishing work right here on the wooden benches. You will see scraps of leather all over the floor by midday. We try to use up as much as we can because nothing should go to waste in this trade. Our tools are mostly old, but they still work perfectly for what we need to do. It is not a quiet place because of the constant hammering and the machines running. We do not have a fancy showroom for people to browse. If someone wants to see what we have, they just come right into the work area. The light is not always great in the back, but we know where every tool is kept. Sometimes the leather is a bit stiff to cut, especially on the colder mornings. We just keep our heads down and work on the orders. It is just us doing our daily leather work.
