Our office is situated at 326 MKN Road in Alandur. If you’ve ever driven through Alandur, you know how packed the roads get. MKN Road is always humming with people going to work or the market. Our building is right in the middle of all that action. It’s a plain looking place from the outside, but inside we’ve got enough room for everyone to have their own desk and for us to keep our samples. The Chennai heat can be tough, so we’re thankful for the fans we have going. We aren't a massive corporation with hundreds of floors. It’s just a few rooms where we handle the orders and talk to our suppliers. Most of the staff has been with us for a long time, so we’re more like a small family than just coworkers. We eat our lunch together and talk about what’s going on in the neighborhood. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just make clothes and try to make sure they get to the right people at the right time. The work is steady and sometimes a bit repetitive, but it’s what we know how to do. Sometimes the rain floods the street a bit, and we all have to figure out how to get home without getting soaked. It’s just part of being here.
