Down here on Rajiv Gandhi Road in Thoraipakkam, things are always moving fast. C L Baid Metha College Of Pharmacy sits right in the Jothi Nagar area, and you can hear the traffic from the classrooms most of the time. It is a place for students who want to learn about pharmacy, and there is always someone carrying a stack of books or running late for a lab session. The building has seen many years and many different students come through its doors. We have labs filled with glass bottles and equipment that gets used every single day. It is not a quiet library vibe all the time, especially when the cafeteria is full during the lunch break. We are not trying to be the fanciest campus in the city, we just provide a place where the actual work gets done. Some of the desks have scratches from years of use, but they still hold up just fine. The faculty stays busy with lectures and grading papers, and the admin office is usually a bit cluttered with forms and files. Being in this part of Thoraipakkam means we are right in the middle of everything. You get used to the city noise after a while. Most of us take the bus or ride bikes to get here. It is a straightforward school. We focus on the curriculum and making sure the students know their stuff before they graduate and move on.
