C. Jaganatha Naicker & Sons

Our shop is at Number 49 on Rasappa Chetty Street in Park Town. If you have ever been to this street, you know it is famous for hardware and all sorts of metal goods. We have been here for a very long time, and the shop has been passed down through the family. We go by C. Jaganatha Naicker & Sons. It is a very tight space because we try to stock everything from tiny screws to heavy tools. Most of the time, the floor is covered with boxes that just arrived, and you have to watch your step. We don't have a modern inventory system or anything like that. We just have a good memory and a lot of respect for the trade. It gets very loud outside with all the people and the traffic, but inside we just focus on the customers. Sometimes people come in just to ask for advice on which tool is better for a job. We don't mind talking to them even if they don't buy anything. It is just how things are done on this street. We are proud of being a local fixture in Park Town. We don't have a website or a marketing person. We just have our reputation and the same wooden counter we've used for decades. It is a bit worn out, but it works just fine for us and our customers.
