British Electricals

If you’ve ever walked through Parrys, you know how crowded Erabala Chetty Street can get. That’s where you’ll find British Electricals, right at No:26/27. We’ve been in this part of town for years, surrounded by all the other shops and the constant noise of the market. We deal with electrical parts—wires, switches, and all that kind of stuff that goes into buildings. Our shop isn’t very large, but we pack a lot of items onto the shelves. Sometimes you have to move a box just to find a place to sit. It’s a bit of a maze in here, honestly. We know where every single fuse and roll of wire is though. Dealing with customers in Parrys means you have to be quick because everyone is in a hurry. We don't go in for fancy displays or bright lights. The shop is more about having the right part when a contractor or a local guy comes in needing a fix. It’s hot and dusty during the summer, but we keep the doors open and just keep working. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the stuff we sell is what people actually need. It’s a simple way of living. We’ve seen many shops come and go on this street, but we’re still here, opening up early every morning and serving whoever walks in from the sidewalk.
