Bandoola Fashion

You can find us over at No. 4 First Street in Annai Indira Gandhi Nagar. It’s a busy part of Velachery, so there is always a lot of noise outside our window. Bandoola Fashion started because we wanted to do something with clothes and fabric right here in our own neighborhood. We have a small shop floor and some sewing machines in the back room. It’s not a big factory or anything corporate like that. Just a few tailors and people who really know how to handle different kinds of fabric. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cramped when new stock arrives on the delivery truck. We spend most of our time looking at patterns or fixing zippers that got stuck. It’s a lot of sitting and very focused work. Velachery has changed a lot over the years, but this particular street stays pretty much the same. We know most of the people who walk by every day on their way to work. If you need something adjusted or you’re looking for a specific style, we usually have something tucked away in a cupboard. The lighting in the shop isn't the greatest, but we make it work for what we do. We aren't trying to be some high-end boutique from the big mall. We just make clothes that real people can actually wear. My cousin helps out with the sales, and I usually stay in the back with the thread and needles.
