We are based out of Raj Cottage in Chennai, which is a bit of a different setup than the main university campus people usually think of. Being at No 7/14C, it’s a more intimate space where we handle specific administrative tasks and local inquiries. Chennai weather is always a factor, so we’re usually dealing with the heat or the rain while we sort through paperwork. It’s a busy little office. We have people coming in with questions about courses or certifications quite often. The cottage itself has a bit of character to it, which is nicer than being in a stark, modern building. We’ve got stacks of files and a few computers that are always running. It’s not a quiet place, as there’s usually someone on the phone or a visitor at the door. We don't have any polished reception area with a fountain or anything. It's just a front desk and some chairs for people to wait in. Most of us have been here for years, so we know the routines inside and out. We manage the day-to-day stuff that keeps the larger gears turning. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the right forms get to the right people. It’s honest, steady work. We grab our tea from the stall down the road and keep things moving. It feels like a small community inside these walls, even though we’re part of a much larger institution. We just do our best to help everyone out.
