About Aysha Sabeel Leathers – Fashion & Trends in Chennai
Aysha Sabeel Leathers is over at No. 52/5 Wuthucattan Street. It’s a narrow street, and sometimes it’s hard for bigger vehicles to get through, but we’ve made it work for years. Our place is basically a workshop and a storage area combined. You’ll see stacks of leather everywhere you look, and the smell of the hides is pretty strong when you first walk in. We don't spend money on fancy lighting or decorations. The focus is entirely on the leather we have on hand. It’s a hands-on business, and we are usually covered in some kind of dust or scraps by midday. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the trade. Most of the time, we’re busy checking the thickness and the quality of the leather pieces for our customers. It’s not a polished environment by any means. The walls have some cracks, and the floor is a bit uneven in places. We’ve been here so long that we don’t even notice the noise from the street anymore. We don't use any fancy sales pitches or marketing tricks. If a customer likes the leather, they buy it. We just try to be fair and keep things moving. Sometimes the orders get a bit backed up, and we have to work through the weekend to catch up. It’s just the way things are when you’re running a small operation like this one on Wuthucattan Street. We take pride in the fact that we handle everything ourselves without any outside help.
