Our place is at 525/2, P.H. Road in Arumbakkam. It’s a busy stretch of road and there’s always the sound of horns and engines. We have a small storefront that’s easy to miss if you’re driving too fast. Inside, it’s a different world. We have things spread out everywhere. It’s mostly just us working through the piles of orders. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. I usually write out the invoices by hand at a small table near the door. The walls are covered in bits of paper and sketches. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, so we have to be careful where we put the finished pieces. Arumbakkam is a good place for a business like ours because everyone knows everyone. We get a lot of people walking in just because they saw something in the window. We try to keep the windows clean, but with the dust from P.H. Road, it’s a losing battle most weeks. We don’t mind. It’s just the way things are here. We spend a lot of time just organizing the supplies we get in. It’s hard work and the days are long, but we’ve been doing this for a while and we’re used to the pace. We just focus on the task right in front of us.
