We work out of a place at T47 on V.O.C. Street in Thirunagar. It’s a workshop environment more than a store. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the smell of leather and glue. It’s a strong scent that stays on your clothes, but we’ve gotten used to it after all these years. We have benches where we cut the hides and machines for stitching everything together. It’s noisy when the work is in full swing. We don’t have a shiny display case for our products. Instead, finished bags or belts are usually just sitting on the worktables or hanging from hooks on the wall. We focus on making things that last. Sometimes a customer comes in with an old leather jacket that needs a new zipper or a bag that needs a strap fixed, and we handle those repairs too. The floor is usually covered in small leather scraps and thread. We’ve been in Thirunagar for quite a while, and most people around here know us as the place to go if you need leather work done. It’s hard work on the hands, and we often have ink or dye under our fingernails at the end of the day. We don’t have a big website or do any fancy advertising. We just keep our heads down and keep the machines running to finish the orders we have. It’s simple, honest work that we’ve been doing for a long time now.
