Assar Steel Corporation

Assar Steel Corporation is located at Nn/On.7/4 on Vannier Street. This street stays pretty chaotic with all the movement and noise from the passing traffic. Our place is basically a big warehouse with a small corner set aside for a desk and some files. Because we handle steel all day, everything feels heavy and cold to the touch. You can see cracks in the concrete floor from where heavy beams have been dropped over the years. It’s a noisy environment where the sound of saws cutting and trucks backing in never really stops. Most of us wear work clothes that end up covered in grease by the time we head home. Dressing up doesn't make much sense when you're working with metal. Our small crew works well together because everyone knows their specific role. Occasionally, a delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow parts of Vannier Street, and we all have to go out and help guide them in. It is a lot of physical labor, but that’s the job. We don’t have a marketing team, so most people find us through word of mouth or by just walking down the street. Keeping the stock organized is the main way we stay on top of things. It’s simple, honest work that leaves us tired at the end of the day. Once we lock the gates, we’re ready to rest. That’s just the life here on Vannier Street. We don’t mind it one bit, it is just what we do.
