Asan Memorial College Of Arts & Science

We are located out in Gowrivakkam, right on the Velachery-Tambaram Road in Jaladampet. That road is always busy, no matter what time of day it is. If you are coming from Velachery or heading towards Tambaram, you can't really miss the turn-off for us. The college has a fair amount of space, which is nice compared to the cramped buildings in the middle of the city. We have a lot of students coming in from all over the suburbs, so the gates are always moving with people and buses. The atmosphere here is pretty relaxed but busy at the same time. We don't go in for any of that corporate polish. The offices are filled with wooden desks, stacks of registers, and the usual clatter of people talking. It’s a very grounded place. We deal with the heat and the dust from the main road every day. The campus has some trees, which helps a bit with the sun. Most of our day is spent just making sure the classes are running and the students have what they need. We don't have a fancy mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just come in, do the job, and handle the paperwork. It’s a local college through and through. The building has been here for years, and it shows its age in a comfortable sort of way. We like it that way; it feels real and fits the neighborhood perfectly.
