Arunachal Green

Down at 109 G.A. Road in Washermenpet, you'll find us at Arunachal Green. It’s a bit of a crowded street, but we like it here because it feels alive. We spend our time working with plants and greenery, which is a nice change from all the concrete outside. The shop isn't massive, but we pack in as much as we can on the shelves and the floor. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers keeping things watered and trimmed. Washermenpet has a lot of energy, and we get people from all over stopping in. Sometimes they just want to look around at the flowers, which is fine by us. We’ve had this spot for a few years now. The floor is usually a bit dusty from the soil, but that’s part of the job. I usually start the day checking for pests or dry leaves before the sun gets too high. It’s a slow process, but you can’t rush things that grow. Sometimes a customer comes in with a dying leaf and asks what’s wrong, and we try our best to figure it out together. It’s nice to see someone’s garden doing well because of something they bought here. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything polished. We just know what grows well and what doesn't in this weather. It’s not a complicated business, just steady work that keeps us moving.
