Parrys is a place where you can find almost anything if you look hard enough. Our shop, Aravindan Art & Decorators, is tucked away on Kandhappa Street. It’s near Clive Battery, so there is always a lot of movement and trucks around. We’ve been doing this for a long time. Decorating is what we know. It is not always glamorous work. Most days involve a lot of lifting, moving things around, and getting our hands dirty. We take care of the visual side of things for people who want their space to look a bit different. It’s a practical job. We don’t sit around talking about artistic theories or anything like that. We just look at the space and figure out what fits. Being in Parrys means we have to be quick and efficient because space is tight and time is money for everyone here. The 600001 area has a specific vibe, very old-school Chennai. We fit right into that. Our team is small, mostly guys who have been working with their hands their whole lives. We don't have a glossy brochure or a fancy website. Most people find us because they saw our work somewhere else or heard about us from a neighbor. We just show up, do the setup, and make sure everything is in place before we head home. It is honest work and we are happy to keep doing it here.
