Anu Leathers

Our place is over at New 32 on Spurtank Road. If you know Chetpet, you know it can get pretty crowded around here, especially during the rush. We’ve been working with leather for a long time. It’s dusty work and the smell of the hides is just something we’ve gotten used to over the years. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s mostly just cutting, sorting, and making sure the quality is okay before it goes out. The building is number 68, but the new address says 32. It confuses the delivery drivers sometimes, so we usually have to stand out front and wave them down. We have a small crew and we’ve all been together for a while. There’s no big corporate office here, just some desks and the workshop floor. We deal with a lot of different pieces, some thick, some thin. It depends on what the order is for. Spurtank Road is a good spot for us because it’s central. We spend most of our time checking the stitching or looking over the grains. It’s honest work. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertisements. People mostly find out about Anu Leathers by word of mouth or just seeing us while they’re stuck in traffic outside. We just keep our heads down and get the leather ready. That’s what we do here every day.
