Sri Shanmuga Prime Tannery

We are located at W-37 in Annagar, and the business is called Sri Shanmuga Prime Tannery. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren’t familiar with the layout of Annagar, but we’ve been at this spot for years. The work involves tanning, so it can be quite messy. We deal with raw materials and turn them into something useful. It’s a lot of manual labor, soaking and drying and stretching out the pieces. The weather plays a big part in how fast we can work, especially when we need things to dry properly. On cloudy days, everything slows down a bit. Our team is small, mostly guys from the local area who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We don't have any fancy brochures or a website. We just rely on the work we finish and the people who come to buy it. The building itself is older, with some cracks in the walls, but it serves its purpose. We keep the equipment running as best as we can. Sometimes parts break and we have to wait a few days for a fix, but that’s just part of running a tannery. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in town, just trying to keep the business moving. It’s a simple life and a simple way to earn a living here in W-37. We just show up every morning and get to work until it's time to head home.
