Anna University

We are based at 12 Pandit Nehru Street in Chennai, which is where this part of Anna University is located. It is a busy street in Tamil Nadu and there is always something happening outside our doors. This isn't the main campus you see in all the pictures, but it's where we do our daily work. The building is old and has that specific smell of paper and stone that you only find in Chennai. We spend most of our time dealing with student files, answering the phone, and trying to keep everything organized. It’s a lot of work because there are so many people constantly asking for things. Sometimes the heat in the summer gets really bad, and the fans just move the warm air around, but we keep going. We don't have fancy office chairs or high-tech gadgets for everything. Most of what we do is just manual work and basic computer entry. It’s a practical place for practical people. You won't find any marketing brochures here or people talking in corporate jargon. We are just staff members trying to make sure the records are right and the students get what they need. Working here in the city means we deal with a lot of noise and traffic, but we are used to it by now. It is just another day at the office on Pandit Nehru Street for us.
