Leather Design

If you find yourself at Spencer Plaza on Anna Salai, you can head up to the 2nd Floor of the 1st Phase. That’s where Leather Design is, specifically at No. 24-s. It’s a bit of a walk from the main entrance, but we like it up here. The mall has a lot of history, and we’ve been a part of it for a bit. Our space is filled with samples and sketches. It’s not very big, so we have to keep things organized, or at least we try to. Mount Road is always buzzing outside, but it feels a bit different inside the plaza. We spend a lot of time looking at textures and colors. Designing with leather takes a bit of patience. Sometimes a piece doesn't behave the way you want it to, and you have to start over. We don’t have a big corporate office or a board of directors. It’s just us figuring things out as we go. We use old rulers and worn-out scissors because they feel right in our hands. You might see some thread ends on our chairs. We don’t use any marketing tricks to get people in. We just stay at our station and focus on the leather. It’s a practical way to spend the day. That’s the reality at Leather Design. We don't need any flashy promises, just a good piece of leather and a steady hand to work with it until the job is done.
