Silken Tamil Nadu

You can find us at G 9 in the Sindur Shopping Center, right on 2nd Avenue in Anna Nagar. Being in a shopping center is different than being on the street. It’s a bit quieter in the mornings before the other shops open up. We usually get here early to organize the Silken Tamil Nadu shelves. There’s always something that fell over or got moved to the wrong pile. We don’t use any fancy software to keep track of things; it’s mostly just notebooks and pens. The air conditioning in the building works most of the time, so we’re lucky there. We see a lot of people walking past the window, some just window shopping and others who have been coming here for years. We don’t try to pull people in with big signs or loud music. If they want to come in, they come in. Usually, we're just sitting behind the counter talking about what we’re going to have for lunch or how the local cricket team is doing. It’s a relaxed pace. Sometimes we have to stay late to deal with a delivery, but mostly we leave when the mall starts to quiet down. It’s a decent place to work, and the people around here are friendly enough. We just take it one day at a time without making a big fuss about anything. It's just a regular shop run by regular people in Anna Nagar.
