Anees Embroider

Our place is Anees Embroider, and we are located right by the New Bus Stand in Tripur, Tamil Nadu. Being so close to the bus stand means it is never quiet. There is always the sound of horns and people shouting for their buses. It is a very lively part of India. Inside our shop, we focus on embroidery. We have hoops and needles and thread in every color you can imagine scattered around. Tripur is famous for clothes, so we are just one small piece of that big industry. The room is often humid because of the weather here. We have a couple of fans that stay on all day to keep us from sweating too much over the fabric. The floor is tiled but usually hidden under bits of colorful thread. Sometimes travelers from the bus stand wander in by mistake, looking for something else, and we have to point them the right way. We spend long hours bent over the cloth, making sure the patterns are right. My hands are usually a bit tired by the end of the shift. We do not have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are because we have been near the bus stand for so long. It is a simple setup with just enough light to see the stitches. We just keep working through the day.
