Trans World Imports & Exports

Our office is in the Akshardan Flats over in Ambattur. We’re in unit S1. It’s actually an apartment complex, which might seem a bit odd for an import-export business, but it works for us. It’s a ground-floor unit, so it’s easy to get in and out. Trans World Imports & Exports is basically just a few of us working out of this space. We have desks set up where a dining table would usually be. It gets a bit cluttered with all the shipping documents and samples we have lying around. Ambattur is a busy industrial area, so there’s always something happening nearby. We get a lot of couriers coming and going throughout the day. The neighbors are mostly families, so we try to keep the noise down and don't have too many visitors at once. It’s not a fancy corporate environment by any stretch. We wear casual clothes and drink a lot of tea while we work through the logistics of moving goods. Sometimes the internet acts up because of the trees outside, but we manage. We’ve been here for a couple of years now and the landlord is decent. It’s a practical way to run things without having to pay for a high-rise office. We focus on getting the work done rather than how the office looks. It’s just a normal day-to-day grind for us here in S1.
