Amarprakash Import & Export

We are located over at No 24 on Rajendra Prasad Road. It is in the Nehru Nagar area of Chrompet, which is usually quite a lively place to be. Amarprakash Import & Export has been operating out of this address for some time now. It’s a regular building, the kind you see all over this part of Chennai. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and desks. We handle both importing and exporting, so there is always a lot of back and forth going on. One day we are waiting for a shipment to arrive from the port, and the next we are trying to get things cleared to go out. It keeps us on our toes. Chrompet is a good area because everything you need is close by, though the traffic on Rajendra Prasad Road can be a nightmare in the evenings. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. It's just us answering the phones and filling out the forms. Sometimes we make mistakes and have to fix them, but we always try to be straight with people. It’s a bit noisy here with the shops nearby, but we like the energy. We are just a local business trying to do a decent job with the trade stuff we handle every day. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s our life. We’ve got a small calendar on the wall where we mark the deadlines, and it usually stays pretty full throughout the month.
