Amaravathi Garments Manufacturing Company operates out of the P K G Building at No. 18. We are located on 4th Street in Trustpuram. It’s a familiar part of Kodambakkam for anyone who’s lived here long. The street is usually lined with scooters and people going about their business. Our space inside the building is filled with the usual stuff you’d expect—sewing machines, thread spools, and piles of fabric waiting to be cut. It gets a bit crowded when a big shipment arrives, but we move things around to make space. The lighting isn't perfect, but it works well enough for the stitching. We’ve been in this Trustpuram neighborhood for years, so we know the local tea stall guy and the other shop owners on the block quite well. It’s a busy atmosphere most afternoons. We don’t really do anything flashy. The focus is always on finishing the orders that are piled up on the workbenches. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon gets a bit much, but we just keep the windows open and the fans going. People in Kodambakkam know where the P K G building is, so it’s not hard to find us if you’re looking. It’s just a regular workplace where a group of us shows up every morning to get things made. The rhythm of the machines is a constant thing you just get used to after a while. Most of the days are just spent working through the piles of fabric and getting them ready.
