Alwin Fancy & General Stores is located at No 24 on the 1st Main Road in Kolathur. If you are in the Srinivasa Nagar area of Chennai, you will find us right opposite the Bank of Baroda. It’s a convenient spot for most people. We carry a variety of fancy items and general goods that people need for their homes. The shop isn't very large, so we have to use every inch of the walls for display. It can look a bit cluttered at times, especially when a new shipment arrives. We spend our mornings sorting through boxes and putting things away. Kolathur is a busy part of town and the traffic on the main road is constant. You get used to the noise after a while. We have a lot of students coming in for pens and notebooks since we have a lot of fancy items too. It’s nice to see the same kids coming back as they grow up. We don't really do any promotion. People just know we are here opposite the bank. We handle everything ourselves, from sweeping the floor to managing the accounts. It’s a long day, usually starting early and closing late. The heat in Chennai can be a challenge, but we just keep the doors open. We aren't a big chain, just a local family-run business trying to serve the people in Srinivasa Nagar as best as we can.
