Akash Engineering Works

My small workshop is tucked away on Ramakrishna Street in Anakaputhur. It’s not a big place, just a simple unit where we do various metal and engineering jobs. Most of the time, the sound of machines is all you hear if you walk by. I started this in Balaji Nagar because it was close to home. We take on whatever repairs or small fabrication jobs the local people or small businesses bring in. It's often just me and a couple of helpers getting our hands dirty. The floors are usually covered in metal shavings, and there’s always a smell of oil and welding in the air. We have some old lathes and drills that have seen better days but still work fine for what we do. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer, but we keep the fans going and stay at it. People know they can just drop by 23/11 and ask if we can fix something. We don't have a website or anything like that. Word of mouth in the neighborhood is how we get most of our work. Sometimes it’s busy, sometimes it’s quiet, but that’s the nature of a small engineering shop. We just focus on getting the parts right so the customer is satisfied and doesn’t have to come back with complaints. It’s honest work and it pays the bills.
