Ahmed Tanning Company

Ahmed Tanning Company has been operating out of Periamet for a long time. Our place is at 87 Raja Muthiah Road, though some of the old records still say number 74. Periamet is known for this kind of work, so we fit right in with the rest of the neighborhood. The building is older and has that character you only get with time. It’s not a shiny new skyscraper, but it’s sturdy and works for what we need. The air around here usually has that distinct smell of leather and processing, which we’ve all grown accustomed to. Inside, it’s a lot of manual work and keeping track of batches. We have a lot of stacks of material and paperwork that seems to never end. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if you aren't used to it. The staff here mostly knows each other well, and we just get on with the tasks at hand. Raja Muthiah Road is usually packed with people and vehicles, so there’s always something going on outside our door. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to make the place look like a showroom. It’s just a practical, honest tanning business where we put in the hours every day. It’s been this way for years, and we just keep doing what we know best in this part of Chennai. We are just a bunch of regular people doing the job.
