You can find Acharya Arts over on Vallal Athiyaman Street in Baggirathy Nagar. We’re at number 54, quite close to the Reliance Fresh in Madipakkam, which makes it easier for people to explain where we are. The shop is filled with all sorts of supplies, from basic paints to the kind of boards people need for school projects or personal hobbies. It’s often a bit messy because we’re always unpacking new stock or moving things around to make room. The street outside can get quite narrow when cars are parked, but it’s a lively neighborhood to be in. We started this place because we liked being around art materials and figured there should be a spot nearby for others to get what they need. There’s no big corporate structure here, just a small counter and rows of items reaching up to the ceiling. We see a lot of students coming in after school and some older folks who have been painting for years. Usually, we’re just chatting with someone about a specific type of brush or a frame size while we work. It’s not a quiet gallery; it’s more of a working shop where people are always touching things and checking colors. We’ve been in Madipakkam for a while now, and the neighbors know us by name. It feels like a part of the daily routine for the street.
