Abar Garments Private Limited is based out of the Choolaimedu area. Specifically, you can find us at No.26/1 on 1st Street in Veerapandi Nagar. It’s a very busy part of Chennai, and there is always something loud happening right outside the windows. We spend almost all of our days surrounded by piles of fabric and spools of thread. It’s a bit of a maze inside the building with all the cardboard boxes piled up toward the ceiling. We’ve been in this exact spot for a while now and most of the neighbors know who we are. It’s definitely not a fancy setup. We have some old fans that creak a bit when they're on and the floors have certainly seen better days. But it’s where we do our real work. We focus mostly on getting the garments made correctly. Sometimes we have to redo things because they weren't quite right the first time around. It’s just a normal part of the process. We aren't a big corporation with fancy titles or expensive rugs. We're just regular people who know how to sew and how to pack things properly. The high humidity in Chennai can be really tough on the metal machines, so we spend a lot of our time maintaining them. It’s honest work and it keeps all of us very busy. We just keep our heads down and get through the daily tasks one by one. It's a living and we're used to the rhythm of it now.
