Glass work is a bit of a tricky thing to get right every time. We have been working out of our place in West Natesa Nagar for a good while now. It’s a busy spot in Chennai, right there at No. 11/5. Sometimes the phone just rings all day long and other times it is quiet enough that we can actually get through the pile of paperwork on the desk. Working with glass means you really have to be careful with your hands, but obviously, mistakes happen once in a while. We spend a lot of our time looking at measurements and double-checking sizes before anything gets cut. Most of our days start with a cup of tea and checking what arrived on the morning truck. The office isn't anything fancy to look at, just some old desks and glass samples lying around in corners. People from the neighborhood stop by asking about window panes or some custom stuff they need for their homes. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. It gets incredibly hot in the afternoons, but that’s just how life is here in the city. We handle the heavy lifting and all the cutting ourselves. It is definitely dusty work. We are just a group of regular people trying to get the orders out to the customers on time. The glass comes in these huge sheets and we have to figure out the best way to use them. It isn't a flashy job by any means.
