Limras Glass

Our place is on Peters Road in Royapettah. It has an old number 238 but the new one is 66. It can be a bit confusing for delivery drivers who are looking for the old sign. There’s also some connection to our other spot at 128 GIDC Odhav near Bhagwati Filters but mostly we are known here. The shop is right opposite Sainath Estate in the Ambica Nagar area if you’re looking at the Odhav part of our business. It's a bit of a mix. We have a lot of glass piled up against the walls. Some are big sheets and some are small pieces left over from bigger jobs. It's a dusty job and the glass gets everywhere. We spend a lot of time with measuring tapes and those little glass cutters. You have to be careful with the edges because they are sharp. Most of the guys here have a few nicks on their hands from years of work. We don't have a big fancy office. Just a counter and some chairs for people to wait. People come in with measurements for their windows or tabletops. We write it down and get to work. Sometimes it's busy and sometimes we just sit and watch the traffic on Peters Road. The glass reflects the sun and makes the whole shop bright in the afternoons. We use a lot of newspaper for wrapping. It’s just how we do it here.
