A. V. Thomas Leathers

We are located at No. 118- A Velachery Main Road. It’s a busy spot, and there is always a lot of dust from the traffic passing by outside. A. V. Thomas Leathers has been operating from here, and the space is mostly taken up by rolls of leather and the tools we use every day. We start the morning by checking what came in the previous night. The main road is convenient for transport, but it means we deal with a lot of noise. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We know the smell and the feel of good leather without having to look too hard. The building is older, and sometimes the roof leaks a bit when it rains really hard, so we have to move the stock around quickly. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady work. We keep our tools sharp and our workbenches as clean as they can be in a place like this. Most of our day is spent measuring and cutting, or talking to people who drop by. We don’t have a lot of decorations on the walls, just a calendar and some notes tacked up. It’s a practical workspace for people who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Velachery Main Road is always changing, but our little corner stays pretty much the same day after day. It is just the way we like it.
