A R Decorators

Down here on Veperi Church Road in Purasawalkam, things are always a bit hectic. We run A R Decorators out of this space at 14/5. Most of the time, the front area is filled with rolls of cloth, stacks of chairs, and different bits of wood used for building stages. If there is a big wedding or a local festival coming up, we are barely in the shop because we are out at the venues. It is physical work, carrying heavy stuff and climbing ladders at odd hours of the night. My hands are usually stained with paint or dusty from the fabric. The neighbors know us well because we are often loading up the small trucks right on the street. It’s a narrow road so we have to be quick about it. The shop itself is a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is kept. We don't have a big sales team or a fancy website. People usually just hear about us from their cousins or friends and walk in to talk about what they need for their events. Sometimes we have to fix old decorations that got torn or damaged, so there is always a sewing machine going in the back. It’s a messy business but seeing a finished stage looks okay when it’s all done. We just keep doing what we do here in Purasawalkam and try to make sure we don't forget any equipment when we head out to a job.
