Surinder Singh Sekhon Architect

The office for Surinder Singh Sekhon Architect is situated at H.No.451 in Sector 44-A. It’s a residential area, so it’s a bit more relaxed than some of the commercial hubs downtown. We’ve been working out of this space for quite some years. It’s mostly just Surinder and a couple of assistants. We have big tables for spreading out the site plans because you can't see everything clearly on a small computer screen. Most of our work comes from people nearby in the sector or from the surrounding parts of the city. They might want to build a new house or maybe just fix up an old porch. We handle the drawings and make sure everything is according to the local rules, which can be a bit of a chore sometimes. There is always a lot of paperwork involved in architecture that people don't really see. We spend time at the site making sure the masons are following the lines we drew. It gets dusty and loud out there, but that’s just how the business is. The office itself is full of books on structures and old project files from decades ago. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just answer the phone and do the drawings as they come in. It’s a steady way to spend the day. We like the fact that we can see the results of our work just by driving down the street.
