Singh Harjinder Architect is based at H.No.1616, Phase Vh, in S.A.S. Nagar. It is a quiet residential street, and the office is part of the house itself. We’ve been working from this location for quite some time. The room we use for work is filled with drawing instruments, rolls of tracing paper, and some old architecture books that have been around for decades. It’s not a modern, minimalist space; it’s more like a workshop where things are constantly being moved around. There’s a small garden out front that we try to keep tidy, though the weeds usually win during the monsoon season. We don't have a big marketing strategy or a sales team. Usually, people just hear about us from their neighbors or friends who had some work done. It’s a very local way of doing things. We spend a lot of time sitting at the drafting table, and sometimes we stay up late when a project is due. The neighborhood is peaceful, which helps when you need to concentrate on a difficult layout. We drink a lot of tea while we work, and the kettle is almost always on. If you come looking for the office, just look for the house number 1616. There’s no big neon sign, just a simple nameplate by the gate. We prefer it this way because it keeps things simple and manageable for a small practice like ours. It has worked out well for us over the years.
