S R Vidyamandir

S R Vidyamandir is up on the third floor of SCO 126-127 in Sector 34 A. It is quite a climb if you do not take the lift, but the view of the sector from up here is actually quite good. You can see all the cars parked below and the people moving about. Sector 34 is the main hub for this kind of work in Chandigarh, so it is always crowded. Our space is basically a few large rooms knocked together. It is a bit plain, with white walls and standard benches. We do not have fancy artwork or expensive furniture. It is all very functional. I usually spend a lot of time trying to fix the overhead projector or sorting out the schedule on the whiteboard. It is a busy place, especially in the late afternoons when school lets out. We have a small area for parents to wait, but it is usually full of bags and jackets. The air conditioner hums a bit too loudly sometimes, but we need it in the Chandigarh heat. We do not really do much in the way of promotion. People just find us through friends or family who have been here before. It is a straightforward place for learning, without any of the corporate polish you see in the bigger chains. We just focus on the books and the exams that are coming up for the students.
