About Rajiv Kumar Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
My office is at H.No.5028, right on the Punjab Engg. College Campus. It’s a bit of a unique spot to be, but it keeps me close to the academic side of things while I run my own practice. Being Rajiv Kumar Architect means I’m usually the one answering the phone and doing the drafting myself. I’ve been here for several years. The campus is quiet, which is good for concentrating on complicated structural drawings. I don’t have a flashy storefront. Most people find me through word of mouth or because they know I’m based right here in the Sur area. I spend a lot of time looking at regulations and making sure everything is by the book. My workspace is filled with books, old blueprints, and a few models I made years ago. I like the history of this place. When someone comes over to talk about a project, we usually just sit in the back room where it's cooler. I don't use a lot of fancy marketing tools. I just show people what I’ve done before and let them decide. It’s a slow and steady way of working, but it suits me. I’ve seen students come and go, while I just keep working on my designs. It’s practical, no-nonsense architecture. I try to be honest about what can be done with a certain budget. It's just me here, mostly.
