Mamta Singh Architect

I’m located over at House Number H.L. 72 in Phase 2, Sector 54, S.A.S Nagar. It’s a residential area, so it’s pretty calm most of the time. I’ve set up my workspace here as Mamta Singh Architect, and it’s where I spend most of my hours. The room is pretty simple, just a large drafting table, my laptop, and shelves full of catalogs and site records. Being in Phase 2 makes it easy for me to get around the city and check on various projects. I don't have a big office with lots of staff. It’s mainly just me and a lot of paper. Sometimes the house gets a bit cluttered with all the building materials and samples I bring back from sites, but that’s just how it goes. I like being based in Sector 54 because it’s a familiar place. Clients usually just drop by the house to go over their plans. We sit around the kitchen table or in my workspace and look at the drawings. I don’t use any fancy software for presentations; I just show people what I’ve drawn and explain how it’ll work. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things. I handle the permits, the drawings, and the site visits myself. It keeps me busy, but I prefer knowing exactly what’s happening with every brick. It’s a plain, straightforward way of working and I think the results turn out better when you’re that involved in the small details.
