The office is located at House No.3465 in Sector 23-D. It is a typical Chandigarh setup where the residence and the workspace often blend together. We have a dedicated area for all the drafting boards and the computers. It’s usually quite messy with site photos pinned to the walls and samples of tiles or wood sitting on the floor. We’ve been here for quite some time now, so the neighbors all know what we do. The daily routine is pretty standard. We get in, check the messages, and start working on the current set of plans. Sometimes we have to run out to a site, so the office stays empty for a few hours. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who know their way around a drawing. It’s a very grounded way of working. There are no fancy boardrooms here. We usually just talk around the main table where the big sheets of paper are spread out. Sector 23-D is a nice, leafy part of town and it’s relatively easy for people to find us once they get the house number right. We prefer this over a high-rise office because we can open the windows and get some fresh air. It feels more like a real part of the community. We just keep at it, drawing and planning, day after day, keeping things simple. If the phone rings, we answer it, and if a client stops by, we make space on the couch for them to sit.
