Working from H.No.968 in Sector 41-A is quite a different experience than being in a big commercial building. It's a house, so it feels much more personal and less stiff. The office area is cluttered with blue prints, heavy rulers, and stacks of architectural journals that we’ve collected over the years. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood throughout the day, children playing outside or the milkman coming by. It’s a comfortable place to sit and draw up plans. We spend a lot of time on the phone with contractors or checking on building codes. The kitchen is just a few steps away so there is always a pot of tea being made. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. If someone comes to see us, they just knock on the door of house 968. It works for us because it keeps things straightforward. Sector 41-A is a decent place to be based, even if it feels a bit removed from the main city center sometimes. The desks are old wood and they have marks from years of use. We don’t bother fixing the scuffs or painting the walls every year. It’s a working office, not a showroom. We just focus on the lines and the structures we’re supposed to be building. It’s quiet, it’s practical, and it gets the job done without any unnecessary fuss. We just take one project at a time and try to stay organized amid all the paperwork and site visits.
