About Kaur Surinder Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
Our office is tucked away in Sector 43/A at House No.910/A. It’s a quiet residential neighborhood for the most part, which makes it a nice place to sit and draw. Being an architect here means dealing with a lot of local paperwork and trying to figure out how to make things work within the space we have. The office is basically a converted room that’s now filled with drafting tables and rolls of tracing paper. It’s a bit of a mess if I’m being honest. We have sketches taped to the walls and half-finished models sitting on the window sill. We don’t have a receptionist or a fancy waiting area. If the door is open, you just walk in and find us at the back. Most of our days are spent drinking way too much coffee and arguing over small details in a design. It’s not always exciting, but it’s what we know. The light in this part of the sector is really good in the morning, which helps when we are trying to see the fine lines on a plan. We’ve been here for a while, so we know the neighbors and the local shopkeepers. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don't put on any acts or try to look more important than we are. We just take each project as it comes and try to do a decent job without any fuss.
