Kaur Sarbjeet Architect

You can find me at number 12 in Guru Goind Singh Nagar, over in Dhakoli. My office is tucked into the neighborhood, which makes it feel more like a home than a workplace sometimes. I’ve been working as an architect here for a few years now, and I’ve seen the area change quite a bit. The street is usually quiet, except for when the kids are coming home from school. I like that because it lets me focus on the drawings and plans I have to finish. Inside, it’s a bit cluttered with rolls of paper and samples of tiles or bricks that people have brought in. I don’t really follow a strict corporate dress code; I just wear what’s comfortable for a long day of work. Clients usually drop by in the evenings after they finish their own jobs. We sit around the big table and look at sketches while the sun goes down. I try to be very straightforward about what can and cannot be done with a building. There is no point in making things sound more grand than they are. It is just about finding a design that fits the space and the budget. Dhakoli is a good place to be, and I’m happy to have my little corner here to work in. It’s a simple life, focused mostly on the next set of blueprints.
