Gupta Vivek Architect

Working at H.No.1451 in Phase-V, Sector-59 is how we spend our weeks. Gupta Vivek Architect is a small practice located right here in the neighborhood. We don't have a suite in a high-rise; it's just a regular house that we've converted part of into a workspace. It’s comfortable and quiet, which is what you need when you're trying to figure out structural details. The shelves are packed with samples of tiles, wood, and bricks that we’ve collected over the years. Some of them have dust on them, but they’re useful for showing people what things feel like. We do our own drafting and sometimes we’re up late finishing off a set of plans for a deadline. There’s a small garden outside the window where a stray cat usually naps in the sun. We don't have a professional receptionist, so we just answer the door ourselves. It’s a very direct way of doing business. Sector-59 is a good spot, fairly central for the projects we take on. We’ve been doing this for a while now and we don't feel the need to make it look more complicated than it is. Architecture is mostly about solving problems and making things fit. We just sit at the computer or the drawing board and get on with it. It’s a steady pace and we like the independence of working from here. The commute isn't bad and we've gotten to know the local shops well.
