Gulati Prabhjot S. Architect

This is Gulati Prabhjot S. Architect, based over at House No.1152 in Sector 44-B. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors know us by name. It’s mostly just a desk, a couple of computers, and a lot of rolled-up drawings sitting in the corner. Architecture is one of those jobs where you think you'll be designing skyscrapers, but mostly we’re figuring out where a wall should go so a kitchen doesn't feel cramped. It’s practical work. We spend our mornings looking at site photos and our afternoons trying to make sense of building codes. It gets busy, and the phone rings more than you’d expect for a small place in Sector 44-B. There isn't a front desk or anything, just a workspace where we try to get the drawings right. Sometimes a project takes longer because the client changes their mind, or the weather doesn't cooperate, but that's just how it goes. We don't use big words or try to act like we’re from a downtown high-rise. It’s just us here at House No.1152, working on whatever comes through the door. If you need a plan for a house or just want to see if a shed will fit in the yard, we’re around. It's a quiet spot, which helps when you need to focus on the fine details of a floor plan for a few hours. We just take it one day at a time and try to be helpful.
